The American and The Brit: Unsolicited Advice by Kate Young and Julie Bromley

Attention all chick lit fans who love to laugh - pick this book up immediately!

Lizbeth Bates moves from the UK to America to live with her American friend Phoebe Hawkins and they find themselves without a job. The road to a new job has never been funnier. In a case of mistaken identity, they find themselves employed with a website running a "Dear Abby"-esque column (which PS I am so jealous of and wish it was my reality!) Will they be found out? Will they be fired? Will they ever find a filter from telling it how it is regardless of the situation? 

This book had me laughing one minute, shaking my head the next, and then laughing again. I will be looking forward to finding the sequel, and hope that this becomes more of a series. This was my first "new adult" book, and if they are all like this, then I will be looking for more.

Royal Day Out: A From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess e-short by Meg Cabot

Years ago, I saw the movie The Princess Diaries and, as I always do, I had to seek out the book. After reading The Princess Diaries, I fell in love with Mia and her world. I read all 10 of the books in the series, and as many of the companion books that I could find. So when Meg Cabot announced that an adult novel of Mia's wedding was to be published, I cheered louder than anyone could imagine! Once it was received, I could not read it fast enough. And now there was a new princess, and half-sister, in addition to Mia? Well, hello Olivia! I welcome you to Genovia and the family that I almost feel that I am a part of as well! Missing Out

I'm the youngest of three. Both of my sisters have had kids - three to be exact. This makes my child the fourth grandchild to be born into my side of the family and the first on my HTB's side. What this means is that my parents are over it. O-v-e-r. I-t. With the first grandchild, my parents were not involved until after her birth. None of us were. She was completely cut off from us. But when she was born my parents took her in where she lives to this day. When the second and third grandchildren were born, there were quite a few complications, but the novelty of the first grandson was strong. Now? My parents have a 13-year-old they are taking care of and they just don't have the time for me. I asked my mom if she would help me in the delivery room and she replied "we'll see" which we all know still stands for a no after all these years. On my HTB's side?
